ARBITRATION
Arbitration
Arbitration is a procedure in which a dispute, with agreement of parties, is taken to one arbitrator who makes a binding decision on the dispute
A neutral decision-maker, an “arbitrator”, listens to each side and decides about the case
Arbitration is an out-of-court method for resolving a dispute
The decision for an Arbitrator is final and binding, so the parties will obey the decision and is quite difficult to overturn.
Arbitration is often resolved much more quickly than court proceedings, so attorney fees are less
The lower costs in preparing for arbitration sometimes outweighs cost in preparing for a jury trial.
An advantage is that Parties may wish to limit the amount of time in the hearing.
